Organized in 1872, with the assistance of
circuit-riding minister James J. Davis, one-year after the town was founded, and
began to meet in the home of William R. and Patience Horn Ellis. This church has
some deep roots in the history of the town of Jewett and has continued to grow
and prosper in the Lord for the past 135 years. Addition of a new sanctuary
capable of seating two-hundred and
major renovations including new ADA accessible restrooms was completed in 2002.
We are part of the West
District in the Texas Annual Conference
of the United Methodist Church.
Our Pastor is Rev. Richard

Child Builders Christian School
- a Christian based school for ages 2 1/2 to 5 years has been in operation since
1996 and is a wonderful asset to our church and community.
We have an effective Sunday School with classes for
all ages including nursery care and two adult classes to choose from. Nursery is
also provided during worship services.
Our UMW meets every first
Wednesday of the month at 6:00pm and our UMM meets every
second Thursday at 7:00pm. Both groups are very involved in various ministry
programs and actively support the ministries of their respective organizations
both financially and prayerfully. Come join us you will be blessed.
We have youth programs for junior high and senior
high ages. The seniors meet the first and third Sundays and juniors meet the
second and forth Sundays. Call the church for exact meeting times or check the
"calendar".
Send us an e-mail, we would love to hear from you.
